Meta Platforms are experiencing a significant outage that has affected several of its services, including Facebook, Threads, and Instagram. The issues were reported on Downdetector and became apparent when users started facing difficulties with loading feeds, profiles, and posting capabilities on these platforms. The outage was widely discussed on social media, with hashtags like #ThreadsDown, #InstagramDown, #FacebookDown, and #WhatsAppDown gaining traction.
The problems began around 10:25 a.m. EST, and although Meta did not officially acknowledge the situation immediately, the user reports indicated a broad disruption. The problem does not seem to be system-wide, meaning posts still work, and some users are online. However, many users are being kicked out of their accounts and unable to log in - both in browwser and mobile. Password resets will not work, by the way. So if you are affected, you just need to wait it out.
