On Asus website... every release of these drivers has the file 'smwdm.sys' missing and install is terminated.

I agree.... I cannot find a working sound driver from the ASUS site for 32 bit VISTA. SMWDM.SYS is totally missing. The ASUS site has very poor support for it's products.

Ok, trying the drivers with a blank SMWDM.SYS file (copy, rename and clear in notepad one fo the other .sys files) brings up setup.... which then tells you that your hardware isnt right for the drivers....

ADI 1988B driver listed for Striker Extreme II, should work fine with previous models like the Strike Extreme. http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/audio/SoundMAXAD1988B_V6100X6320_Vista.zip
