I can play the game on Vista, CoreToDuo 2,66 Ghz, Geforce 8600GS with compatibility mode set to Win98. But, you can not watch the cutscenes. WinXP cutscenes work fine with Win98 compability mode. But, the game is unstable and crashes to desktop frequently.

After messing with this for a while I finally found the answer to playing this properly on xp. seems like the problem isn't newer windows at all, it's actually an issue with newer graphics cards. geforce series 8 (or the equivalent of) like I and the other person who posted here already will lead to the same problem he described and make it not really worth playing.

but if you load it up on a system with a geforce 7 series (or equivalent) or older, it runs perfectly on xp. no cutscene crashing, no d3d crashing.
