Geeky Mother's Day Gifts Ideas 2023
By Corporal Punishment |
Hey Geeks. Mother's Day is just around the corner. Sure, you can roll up to the local florist for some flowers as your gift... If gifts are your thing. Or you can get something a bit geekier for something more memorable. Sibling rivalry is real. Am I right?
We've all been there. Living life as we do. We are going about our daily routines, using the same products daily, and not thinking twice about it. Until we see something new that totally blows our mind, we think, "Why didn't I think of that?!!!" Here are a few out-of-the-box ideas that we found that were approved by our survey of real moms (ours) for having that awesome/geeky factor for Mother's Day.
Laundry Masher Grenade:
Help your Mom win the war on laundry! Seriously, how could we not start with a grenade you throw in your washer to do your laundry? You're at the wrong website if you don't think that's cool. Consider this. No plastic bottles, no need to buy laundry detergent or put any chemicals into your machine. Just toss a silver nano particle-infused grenade, and your clothes come out fresh and clean. Laundry Masher has made just such a thing. Each grenade is eco-friendly and good for 200 washes. The product comes in a cute pineapple, too -- but who would want to throw a pineapple when you can throw a grenade??

ChargeCard:
The world's smallest emergency phone charger as seen on SharkTank. Phones are a necessity and add security to your life. The ChargeCard is ultra small at 3.3" x 2.3" x 0.18" (2.2oz), fast ( at 1.5amp), and has a built-in charging cable (USB-C, Lightning, Micro USB) which is super convenient. Mom can drop this in her purse, and you can be sure she'll always have enough juice on your phone for emergencies or your weekly phone call. You do call every week, right?

Chounette L' Etonnante Preserved Roses:
Anyone can buy roses, and they are great for -- maybe a week? Chounette has dedicated its business to creating preserved roses that, with care, can last a lifetime. The rose comes in a range of colors, Lavender, Pink, White, Champagne, Red, Yellow and Black. (Sadly not camo) Whether placed on her desk, window sill, or XBox, your Mom will be able to enjoy these beauties for years to come.

MagicOutlet:
I don't know about you, but my Mom a tad on the older side and has trouble reaching down for the outlets that are often behind furniture or in awkward places. Enter MagicOutlet. Magic Outlet is just a more finished power strip. It comes with a4 foot cable that you plug into the uncomfortable outlet and use the advice strip to place the outlet where it is convenient. It has two 100-volt outlets, 2 USB ports, and a phone shelf. Install these next to her bed or sleeping area, proving you are the thoughtful, geeky kid she always knew you were.

Snooz:
Give your Mom the gift of rest. Think of it as payback from when you were a baby. For some, falling asleep becomes more challenging as we age, and this problem is even worse for women. So it's likely your Mom would welcome some help falling asleep. Studies show that white noise helps 38% fall asleep faster and have a more restful sleep and one of the best white noise products out there is Snooz. Snooz creates white noise from a real fan, not a looping soundtrack. This gives a much more natural feel without interruptions or track changes. However, it's not just blowing air—the device and ten adjustable volume settings and tone adjustments let your Mom perfectly tune out city street noise, tinnitus, and snoring. There is a programable remote, nightlight, and optional app as well.

Peeps:
No, not the strangely delicious sugar and marshmallow treats we see around Easter. I'm talking about the CarbonKlean Peeps Eyeglass Lens Cleaner. These babies have carbon and microfiber tech used by NASA, so you know it will be geeky. But it also does a fantastic job cleaning lenses and small enough to carry in a purse. You brush off the lens and then wipe them with the carbon and microfiber pads which remove all the oils and grime lefts behind from daily use. Photographers will be familiar with the sort of thing if they have used a lens pen. But if it's safe for a $3000 zoom lens, trust me, your Moms glasses will be safe and ultra-clear. Assuming your Mom wears glasses. Otherwise, don't get this - that would be awkward.

DuoCover:
Does your Mom microwave? Of course, she does. Hence she could use a DuoCover. This next-generation microwave gadget is staggeringly simple, geeky, and makes food taste better. Oh, and did I mention it will keep her Microwave clean too? DouCover is a collapsible dome made from Dishwasher-Safe BPA-Free and Plastic Free
materials. It has Microwave safe magnets built into the top to store it when unused. You pop open the DouCover and place it over your food when needed. The dome will trap moisture helping food taste better - including leftovers. DouCover does not get hot, so it is designed to collapse when done and stored in the Microwave. If food explodes (eggs), the DouCover contains themes about keeping your Mom's Microwave clean. As I said, geeky and straightforward.

Shark UR2500SR AI Ultra Robot Vacuum: Ok, buying cleaning products can be touchy. So broom or toilet brush is out. There's no way that can go well. BUT and AI-powered Robot Vaccum, now that's a winner. This one attaches to your WI-FI so you can control it with an app if needed. Has built-in H ome Mapping to learn its environment and comes with a base that empties the vacuum for you with what they claim is a 30-day storage. I have huskies -- so I'll call Shark out on that. This item is part of the Amazon Renewed Program so you can save a good deal of cash ($140+ bucks) and help save something from heading into a landfill, all while giving a gift that will help out. Win Win Win.

Magnetic Levitating Bluetooth Speaker, Levitating UFO Speakers:
Ok, you've read this far and seen nothing. I get it: no flowers, cooking, glasses, or sleeping. You're looking for something for your Mom that says; I'm Geeky. You made me. Here's a gift. Well, here ya go. A light show, surround sound, and a wireless Bluetooth speaker all wrapped into a levitating UFO. Yes, please! Add a note that says, "I love the moon, the stars, and thinking about what's out there, but not as much as I love you." And you just won Mother's Day. You're welcome.
