How to Generate a QR Code for Any Website in Google Chrome
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Google Chrome has a hidden option, or experiment, to enable you to generate a QR code for any web page. Here's how to enable and use sharing a page with QR code.
Open Google Chrome and type in chrome://flags/#sharing-qr-code-generator in a new tab.
Click on the dropdown box next to Enable sharing page via QR Code, and change Disabled to Enabled.
Click on Relaunch at the bottom.
Right-click on a blank space on the webpage you want and click on Generate QR code for this page.
Type in a name for your QR code, and click on Download.
At the time of this tutorial, the Generate QR code is in beta and may not work correctly, hence the name Experiments. One of the most frequent bugs is a random color being displayed, not a QR code. When you click Download, nothing happens.
