How to Increase or Decrease Android Font Sizes on Android
By Timothy Tibbetts |
You may run into a time when your message fonts on your Android device became larger or smaller, especially in Messages. Here are a few tips to get your font size to whatever size you like.
The solution depends on what version of Android you have or which smartphone you own. Regardless, both methods only take minutes to try. Let's begin by (obviously) opening your message app which the first two solutions address.
1: Use the Volume Button
Try using the volume button up and down. We've found this solution works on mostly older smartphones, for example, the Samsung S9 and older as well as LG and Nexus devices.
2: Pinch the Screen
Try pinching the screen just like you would when maximizing or minimizing a photo until you arrive at the size you like. Pinching was the solution for most newer phones, including the Samsung S10.
3: Use Settings
If your fonts are larger now on everything, go to Settings and find either Display or Personalize. Scroll down and look for Font size and style.
You can also swipe down from the top, click the gear icon, click Display, and scroll down to Font size and style. Owners of LG and Nexus phones might have to try this method.
