How to Show or Hide Touch Keyboard Icon in Windows 10
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Windows 10 comes with a Touch Keyboard most often used on touchscreen computers. You can enable the Touch Keyboard with a taskbar icon (button) to easily switch it on or off. Here's how.
You have three options to show or hide the Touch keyboard icon.
1: Show or Hide Touch Keyboard Icon in Windows 10 With Taskbar
Right-click on a blank area on the Taskbar.
Confirm that Lock the taskbar in not checked.
Click on Show touch keyboard button.
Check the lower-right corner of your screen for the Touch Keyboard button.
2: Show or Hide Touch Keyboard Icon in Windows 10 in Settings
Click on Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar.
Scroll down and click on Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
Click on Turn system icons on or off.
Toggle Touch keyboard on or off.
3: Show or Hide Touch Keyboard Icon in Windows 10 With Batch Files
If the above two methods fail, there could be a registry problem. Using these batch files will modify one line in the registry, then restart Explorer, so the changes are immediate.
Download Show or Hide Touch Keyboard Icon in Windows 10 and extract the two files:
Show_Touch_Keyboard_button_on_taskbar.bat
Hide_Touch_Keyboard_button_on_taskbar.bat
Right-click on the action you want, and choose Run as administrator.
