How to Use Windows Calculator for Date Calculation
By Timothy Tibbetts |
The built-in calculator in Windows 10 is pretty good, and Microsoft keeps improving it. One neat feature often overlooked is the ability to calculate the differences between dates allowing you to see the time between dates quickly. Here's how that works.
In the top right corner, click on the three lines, often known as the hamburger icon. Click on Date Calculation.

At the top, you can choose Difference between dates or Add or subtract days.
Difference between dates
Click on either date shown and change those dates to any dates you like. As soon as you choose the second date, the difference will be displayed.

Add or subtract days
Using this method, you can choose the date and then either add or subtract the number of years, months and days to arrive at the distance.

Currently, there is no way to add in hours, minutes, or seconds. You might have noticed that the Calculator can also calculate Scientific and Programmer.
Further down you can find converters. You can convert Currency, Volume, Length, Weight and Mass, Temperature, Energy, Area, Speed, and Time.
Windows Calculator is much more than a basic calendar.
