Review: Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Dual Function Inflator/Deflator
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Today we're looking at the Ryobi battery-powered inflator deflator. If you're reading this review pondering whether to purchase one, I'll save you some reading time. Buy it.
The Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Dual Function Inflator/Deflator can inflate or deflate balls, tires, air mattresses, pools, and pool floats, to name a few. I am fortunate enough to own two homes, and I love this Ryobi tool so much, I own two, so I never forget to take it with me. Hence, we're keeping this review as short and sweet as possible because it's a no-brainer.
Using the Ryobi One+ 18v Dual Function Power Inflator/Deflator is simple. There is a power button to turn it on, and then you can set the PSI by holding the left or right buttons. Switching left will deflate while switching right will inflate. A few adapters, including a sports ball needle, for any situation.
I've used the Ryobi to deflate pool floats and admit I never even considered having a tool for that. You will discover your inflatables can be deflated entirely, making them as small as possible to roll up and store.
Of course, my favorite application is filling up the air in car tires. One issue is battery life. On average, I've found you can inflate up to five pounds per tire, anything more and you might need a second battery. You can avoid battery problems by purchasing a higher-capacity battery.
On average, I found setting the tire pressure and then turning the Ryobi off (center) and back to inflate will top off the tire and almost always get near-perfect tire inflation on all four tires.
Anyone who's filled their tires knows getting all four tires perfect is tough to master, but I'm happy with my results.
Ryobi has since majorly improved upon the design featuring a slimmer design that can be stood up or laid down. You can purchase the newest model, with a battery and charger, at Amazon or your local Home Depot store. As an Amazon Associate, you support MajorGeeks, and we earn a commission if you purchase an item using our affiliate links.
A smaller, cheaper version can also be purchased with battery or without battery.
There you have it. Some might find the Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Dual Function Inflator/Deflator a bit expensive, but we've got years of use from our, and we're thrilled with the portability. Many gas stations now charge for air to the point of offering credit cards, so if you have vehicles, balls, bicycles, tires, and inflatables, you'll get your money's worth from this tool. The affiliate links we used above are an official non-retail package where you're paying closer to $70 instead of $125 retail.
