If you noticed the Vulkan Runtime libraries on your computer, you might be wondering what they are and if they are safe. The short answer is that they are safe, and were installed by your video card drivers.

Vulkan RunTime Libraries, sometimes referred to as Vulkan Runtime Libraries or VulkanRT, was installed by your display card manufacturer. Most likely you have an NVIDIA, Intel or AMD graphics card and it is a 3D graphics API that is similar to OpenGL and DirectX.

It is designed to improve 3D graphics and is taken advantage of in many of today's popular 3D games.

If you're not a gamer, you can remove it if you like, however, we don't see the point. Uninstalling adds two potential things to consider. First, should you decide to play a supported game, you'll want the Vulkan RunTime Libraries installed. Second, the next time you update your drivers, the Vulkan RunTime Libraries will be installed again because they are installed as part of your driver package and without permission.

If you want to uninstall the Vulkan RunTime Libraries anyway, go to your Control Panel by clicking on the Windows key + I then go to Apps and see if the Vulkan RunTime Libraries are installed.
