Bitdefender BTCWare Decryption Tool is a freeware app from Bitdefender to unlock files locked by the BTCWare ransomware.

Bitdefender BTCWare Decryption Tool looks for the scanning path (folders) which you can enter manually, browse to, or scan the entire system if you're not sure. Optionally, you can back up files if you like.

While scanning, Bitdefender BTCWare Decryption Tool can search for the encryption key and provide it when found. Because we found the scan to be very fast, we recommend you scan the entire drive to be sure you found all traces.

Bitdefender BTCWare Decryption Tool will help you unlock your files, but it won't remove the BTCWare malware. You should use your favorite malware scanner or ask for help on our free support forums.

The decryption tool will not run if:

It can’t find a valid ransom note
It cannot find a valid encrypted file (i.e., a file that is not corrupted)
It can’t decrypt the User ID field in the ransom note
It cannot pass the test of decrypting five random files in the folder/drive – this helps us protect from corruption files that might be encrypted with a different family of ransomware and that are stored in the same folder as BTCWare-encrypted ransomware.
