Bulk Files Renamer is a very simple single-use utility for renaming a group of files in a folder.
A utility like this is handy for naming files that you are working with on a specific project and want to be able to search for them more easily later.
For example, let's say you were photographing flowers for a project for MajorGeeks. The camera may name the files something like IMG0001.jpg, IMG_0002.jpg, etc. This can get very confusing if you are trying to find these files later.
With Bulk Files Renamer, you would select the folder the pictures were in. You then input the new prefix in the 'Rename To' box. In this case, something like "Flowers-For-MajorGeeks" would work. Then click rename. All the files in that folder would now be named Flowers-For-MajorGeeks-01.jpg, Flowers-For-MajorGeeks-02.jpg... etc. Making your life way easier in the future.
Optionally, you can remove files from your list to rename by selecting and deleting them from the interface. You can also choose to only rename items with a certain file extension, like .jpg, .zip, or .doc.
A very handy program that you can keep on your desktop for when you need it.
