GtkHash is free and Open Source software that allows users to calculate message digests or checksums for files, folders, or text with a simple and user-friendly interface that allows you to choose hash functions and display the results. 

GtkHash is intended to help you verify the integrity and authenticity of your files by comparing the checksums of the files you have with the ones provided by the source.

GtkHash has an ultra-minimal interface; you open its file explorer choose the file you want to check, and click the HASH button.  The program will do its job and display the data for you. After selecting a file, click on the Hash button at the bottom of the window.

It supports various hashing algorithms, such as MD5, SHA1, SHA256, and many more, that you can access via the Preferences Tab. (Check the screen shot)
