Hot Wheels: Race Off brings the childhood fun of racing your Hot Wheels cars to your Android devices.
Race 20+ Hot Wheels cars across 40+ racing tracks, use boosters, loops, and jumps to stunt on the Hot Wheels orange track, upgrade and build your cars, and challenge anyone in competitive multi-player mode.
The game does its best to replicate the experience with pitfalls and challenges that make many of the tracks difficult. It's a bit of a grind to upgrade your vehicles, but you can take advantage of 2 gifts every 6 hours or so to get extra coins to buy upgrades. Watch a video and double those free coins. Like most games, you can purchase more coins to upgrade sooner. As you progress, and you've upgraded your cars, you will find you can't go back and select an already upgraded car because it's not good enough for the newest tracks so grinding a bit is forced. I think it's a tightrope, but they could loosen this up a bit. The camera angles, like many mobile games, are difficult to nail and while they get it, for the most part, there are some tracks you need to memorize or you will get stuck in some places. This could use some minor tweaking as well. For example, there are some tracks where you need to slow down to go up a small hill before it quickly levels off and goes up a large hill. If you didn't see the double hill coming, you'll have to roll backwards and try it again, or if you missed it completely, you might blow up your ride. Rolling backwards also puts you at risk of running out of fuel, which is offered at various spots along the track. Last I checked, Hot wheels didn't run on gas and the only excuse for needing gas is to make completely the tracks more difficult.
Otherwise, it's the most fun I've had in a mobile racing game in some time.
