Koinonein BitTorrent Client is a fully featured BitTorrent Client designed to be free from data mining, spyware, and toolbars.

Over the years some of the most popular BitTorrent clients have added ways to make money including advertising, toolbars, etc. so Koinonein BitTorrent Client aims to be the solution to these other programs.

The "First Run Wizard" gives you complete control over how it works. There are settings for the connection, defaults, deletions, directories, display, port options, torrent options and update settings. Pro settings can also be found here and include anti-virus and threat analysis services.

The interface isn't much different than other BitTorrent clients, after all, they all mostly do the same thing. It does have a minimalist look with white, gray, and black and a few blue icons.From the left, you can add, create, pause torrents as well as access settings or help.

If you select Add Torrent, you can put in the path to any torrent or magnet file, or choose one from your computer. Ironically, the author provides a link to download the torrent for Koinonein BitTorrent Client, but not being a direct file link, it won't work in their program. The included browser did nothing for us, making it impossible to select a local file. Folders simply didn't expand to open a torrent file. You can, however, drag-and-drop your torrent file into the main window.

Once you've added a torrent, you can change the destination folder, rename the file, and more. Details about the download are also included. The torrent will display, with more information, about the download in progress.

Additional tabs can show you much more including category, files, info, log, peers, trackers, and web seeds.

If you're new to torrents, Koinonein BitTorrent Client is about as simple to use as they come. It's free, the additional security in the Freemium version might be worth it to less knowledgeable torrent downloaders, or just to donate to the cause.
