KPTemp is a portable, freeware app designed to clean temporary files without any user intervention.
KPTemp isn't for everyone; let me explain.
There's no user intervention, what KPTemp deletes can't be changed, and you don't know what it will delete. More on that in a minute.
Click on Clean now and wait a few minutes.
Your computer will reboot automatically, so make sure all programs are closed.
On a fairly clean (week) install of Windows 10, 5GB was found and deleted.
We decided to run KPTemp on our daily computer because we like to break stuff and had no problems after deleting just shy of 2,500 files and 1GB.
Once completed, you have a log file of what was cleaned. Because of this, we have some insight into what's deleted, including cache, temp files, prefetch, SoftwareDistribution, Windows.Old, Recycle Bin, and more:
C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Windows\Prefetch
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs
C:\Windows\Logs\waasmedic
C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsUpdate
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\AppCache
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Caches
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\File System
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp
We can see KPTemp being useful for techs for a quick final cleanup, especially for deleting the Windows.Old and SoftwareDistribution Folders. I doubt it will replace our favorite drive cleaner, but KPTemp has its uses.
