Mageia is a Linux-based, free operating system that is a fork of Mandriva Linux.

Mageia has been around since 2010 and was started by former employees and contributors of the French Linux distribution.

Unlike Mandriva, Mageia is community-driven and designed to be free and more comfortable for Windows users than Mandriva.
