What is MediaBase Designed to Do?
MediaBase is a media management option designed to streamline the process of documenting and organizing media collections. It enables you to search through a vast array of entries efficiently, enhancing the overall organization and accessibility of your media assets.
Organize Your Media Files
MediaBase will help you organize and keep track of all media files on your computer. It accomplishes this by creating a compact database, referred to by Mollie Soft as the media model. You can create one or more media sets within this database, allowing for efficient management and documentation of your media assets.
When organizing your media, you can create distinct media sets for different types of files, such as videos, audiobooks, podcasts, or photos. Each media set can be labeled with a name of your choice, allowing for efficient categorization. For example, you might establish a media set specifically for audio files, another for video content, and a separate one for DVD media. This method of organization helps streamline access and management of your media collections.
MediaBase offers a relatively streamlined approach to documenting media files by allowing users to attach up to four images in JPG format to each media set. Additionally, you can include text notes to provide essential details such as the author's information, a summary, and relevant descriptions. Furthermore, a URL can be appended to the media set, linking to a webpage that provides more information about the item. This functionality enhances the organization and context of each media file.
Geek Verdict
MediaBase's busy and somewhat outdated interface can make learning it a bit challenging. A comprehensive help section would be beneficial for users looking to navigate the platform more effectively. For assistance, an FAQ download is available, which we've included in the download. With all that said, MediaBase is still a viable option for organizing media into a manageable database.
