Money Manager is a free desktop app to help you manage your finances without sending a ton of online data or having to a monthly subscription fee.
Money Manager can import data from CSV format, which most banks provide. This will help you get started quickly without a serious commitment to copy/paste and typing. You can also export your data as both summary and transaction.
You can set up budgets and automatic in the program to match your auto payments or planned events like salary or other income and withdrawals.
The data for Money Manger is stored locally and, as yet, has no automated import ability. However, there are some nice reporting features that, over time, would help you keep an eye on your overall finances. It warns that your budgets are out of wack and has a convenient way to track "gifts" or donations.
Using the program was rather easy, and the design is really well thought through. However, in the future, it would be nice to see some basic accounting items added, like balancing a statement.
All in all, Money Manger will not replace something like Quickbooks or Xero, but if you only need a simple app to manage a few personal transactions per month and some financial overview, this may be in your wheelhouse.
