Opera Mail is a lightweight email client designed to work alongside the Opera web browser or as a standalone email solution.

Installation is fast, it has a ton of features and just works really well. The interface follows the familiar 3 panes side-by-side look but with just a quick click you can change it to a dual-pane or three-pane with the left side being top and bottom. See our screenshots for more on that.

With competition from Outlook, Thunderbird and web email this one is often overlooked. If you need a desktop email client then you might want to try this one out. I'd prefer a portable version, and while one exists with Opera@USB, it is unofficial and often many months behind the official version here.
