Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch allows you to time-stretch an audio file with the intent of rendering any sound into relaxing ambient music.

While the most time-stretching methods produce artifacts on extreme (like 10x) stretches, Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch produces high-quality sounds even at 1000x stretches. This program is designed for stretching of audio. It is intended to be used for extreme sound stretching and for applying special effects by "spectral smoothing" of the sounds. It can transform any sound/music to a texture.

It is capable of producing high-quality extreme sound stretching. There is some other sound- stretching software out there, but they fail to produce decent sounds because they tend to stretch the sounds past their processing capability, this one is optimized for extreme sound stretching. So, the stretch amount is unlimited in scope. You can play the stretched sound in real-time (including the possibility to freeze the sound), or you can render the whole sound or a part of it to an audio file. Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch includes many post-processing effects, like filters, pitch/frequency shifters and it includes support for WAV, OGG VORBIS, and MP3 files.
