One of the functions included with PDFTK Builder is the ability to join or merge PDFs. This feature enables users to combine pages from multiple PDF files or rearrange pages within a single document. Users can reorder, delete, or duplicate pages as needed. When merging documents, the order in which they are listed in the 'Source Documents' window will determine their arrangement in the final output. To insert pages from one document into another, the main document must be listed twice—once for the section before the inserted pages and again for the section after. If no specific page ranges are provided, PDFTK Builder will automatically include all pages from the selected document. Users can specify page ranges using a single page number or a hyphen to indicate a start and end page, and multiple ranges can be separated by commas or semi-colons.

In addition to merging, PDFTK Builder allows users to split PDFs. This function separates each page of a PDF file into individual, numbered PDF documents.

The software also offers options for adding backgrounds, stamps, and page numbers. The 'Background' feature enables users to apply a specific background to all pages or just the first page of a document, utilizing another PDF file as the background (typically the first page if the background document contains multiple pages). By default, page numbers are stamped in the bottom-right corner of an A4 document in portrait orientation; however, these default settings can be adjusted in the PdftkBuilder.ini file, with dimensions specified in 1/72 inches.

The 'owner' password allows the document to be viewed while restricting certain actions, such as printing and copying. The Password Protection panel can be easily toggled open or closed with a double-click or with the keyboard shortcuts Alt+P or Ctrl+P.
