Privacy Controls permits you to scan your machine for unwanted and confidential files, browsing history details, Windows cache, multimedia history, etc., and then allow you to erase them permanently.

It will effectively remove data selected by you from your system and then overwrite them to prevent recovery. When you run the scan, Privacy Controls will thoroughly scan for files containing personal information related to your internet browser, chat programs and more. Once completed you are given an organized view of items found, and it allows you to hover over each category/sub-category and get details about what will be deleted. You also have the option to schedule multiple scans to automate the process.

Privacy Controls will also shred data through three shred options which are Quick - one pass overwrite, Safe - DOD 5220.22-M, a three pass overwrite, and Thorough - a seven pass overwrite. The shredder allows a shred list to be compiled via drag n' drop or by standard addition and once you hit shred it will render selected files virtually unrecoverable.
