ProtectU is designed to remove malware or viruses that may have gotten past your standard anti-virus or anti-malware programs.

The jury is still out on how effective it can be. We did not test it with an infected system and all we can tell is that it scans the obvious locations including photos, documents, music, videos and "hard disks and other devices." It does scan very quickly.

Once completed there's no log file or any way of knowing what exactly it scanned, or any options for that matter. The help tab is a description of the program, which is ironical given that it's no help at all.

ProtectU is just one more tool that might help you in a pinch but it needs to be developed further. We think it has potential but is best used by advanced users for now.
