Open the command prompt:

To remove Windows XP end of life messages enter:
wusa.exe /uninstall /norestart /KB:2934207

Removing Microsoft Security Essentials is also your best bet but if you decide to keep it enter:
wusa.exe /uninstall /norestart /KB:2949787

Reboot for these changes to take effect.
