sLyrics is a free portable app that searches the ChartLyrics website to find lyrics for songs.

Simply type in the artist and song name, then press search. It seems that small typos even allow you to get results, but there are many smaller artists that ChartLyrice has never heard of. For example, I'm a big fan of a band called Avatar and had no problem finding their lyrics on other websites, yet apparently, ChartLyrics has never heard of them.

Once you've found what you're looking for you can search within the lyric text, copy to clipboard, clear lyric cache, auto-save lyrics or choose a name to save as.

Another additional option is the ability to search for text. If you're looking for a song that has specific words, this can be handy. We had some fun with this searching for geek and finding songs from the Ramones, Rob Zombie, Bob Dylan, OutKast, Warren G, and more. sLyrics could have been handy to find a wedding song back in the day. Yeah, we went with Stryper. That's not the worst of it; I even had a mullet.

Regardless, sLyrics is a handy app, but we wish it could use a larger database to find songs from lesser known bands. Frankly, it has us wandering all over the internet finding lyrics, so if we don't post anything else new, you know why. We're out singing along with our favorite songs.
