Star Interceptor is a 3D shooter combined with strategic planning aspects requiring you to pilot a spacecraft in the protection of the native star system from invading enemies.

The fleets of enemy spacecraft pass through hyperspace from their star system, which is comprised of factory cities that continuously churn out more spacecraft to attack. You will need to destroy the incoming sorties of enemy craft that are heading to your home planet and space stations. If they break through your defense, they will destroy them and the squirmish will be lost. As part of Star Interceptor, you will also need to hit them at home and destroy the alien cities to stop the production of new fighters, or they will overwhelm your civilizations defenses with neverending waves of ships.

You will also need to protect the space stations because they are the only place to refuel and repair your ship. You are given a status report of your ship to keep you informed about any damage sustained and what is or isn't operational. To move through space in Star Interceptor, you will use the map that is brought up via the space bar. You have shields to protect from damage from the enemy, a force field (key S). To initiate bombing cities, you'll need to switch up your weapons (W key). For dodging enemy fire you will use the arrows, and almost equally important the Left Ctrl key is used for shooting. A fun and challenging game to play that offers different levels with varying degrees of difficulty to keep the gameplay ever changing.
