Tizer Unlocker can unlock files and folders that are in use as well as the process that is running it.

Tizer Unlocker isn't new. It appears the website is gone. The app was created in 2010, and the best we can tell development stopped in 2014. Registration is optional to receive product updates, but we don't recommend it as the app redirects to a Chinese page so registering for updates is pointless. Because of this, we wouldn't click on any of the links in the program either.

And, that's a shame because this app was probably before its time. Nowadays, applications to unlock files and folder being held hostage for ransom is a necessity. There is no portable version of this app available, so installation is required.

The interface is very well laid out and effortless to use, even for the first time. Select whether you want to search for a file or folder, Browse to where you want, and the details are provided. Those details include the Name, Process ID, Handle ID, Status, and File Location. Once you have loaded up a file or directory, you can kill the process or unlock handle so the problem file or folder can be unlocked.

We did experience one bug; every time you start Tizer Unlocker, it wants to reboot. Our tests were under Windows 10, so that might be the problem. Again, development of this app stopped before Windows 10, but it still got the job done for us.

Tizer Unlocker makes it simple to unlock those files or folders that you couldn't unlock otherwise. It's free, efficient and anyone can take advantage of it. It appears the app wanted us to reboot twice, so that's the only bug we found.
