We recently looked at 2 Anonymous Web Browsers to Protect Your Privacy as well as 8 Free Tools to Go Online Anonymously but there are still other options to consider if you are looking to find ways to decrease your online footprint. If you don’t want to download and install a proxy or VPN or continually change browser configurations, but instead just need to browse anonymously occasionally, then maybe using an online proxy is what you need? Web based options simply load like any other web page, you then enter the domain you’re going to, and let the website do the work for you.
After hours of research and testing, we found some online proxy services were too slow, had errors too frequently, and many are just limited demonstrations of a full-featured product they are selling. So if you want a simple online proxy, here’s the best we have found:
Kproxy

Maybe it’s because it came up first in the search results, but we have been using this for some time. It’s consistently pretty fast and all you do it type in your address and go. They also offer a pro upgrade and browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome.
VPNBook

Hide.Me

Hide.Me offers not only a few servers to choose from, but also you can choose from other options including whether to accept or block cookies, scripts and more. I’ve had the servers stall on me occasionally so this one can be a little slower, but if you want the options, that’s the price you pay. They also offer a shareware VPN for all devices.

Hidester

Hidester works like Hide.Me above with fewer options and, in our experience, a false claim of being the fastest. But, don’t hold their bragging against them. Lots of people do that, and it works just fine. They also offer a browser fingerprint test a proxy list and a password generator. The only thing I can find them trying to sell is a premium proxy list.
Zen2

Zend2 has been around a long time. It’s fast and easy to use much like Kproxy, however, there are no clients, apps, extensions or anything else they might sell you. They even offer a YouTube Proxy.
FilterBypass

FilterByPass was super fast and offers as many options as Hide.Me. The interface is a tad loud for my tastes, but they have something the others don’t; quick access to browse YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and more. We happened to be looking for that.
