Winter in the northern states comes with the obligatory cold and snow; sometimes that snow builds up on your roof, then if the house is not insulated properly you get massive ice dams that allow the formation of icicles - big ones. What are you to do?
According to the Chicago Tribune, police were called out to a home in the unincorporated St. Charles area, for a report of gunshots. When they arrived they immediately found the source of the complaint.
Lt. Pat Gengler, spokesman for the sheriff's office. When they arrived, police found the man shooting at the icicles on his roof, Gengler said.
Responding officers ordered the 80 year old to cease and desist. Which he did.
No charges were filed against the man. Lt. Gengler explains that "It's still unincorporated, so some of those places it's OK to shoot a gun."
