Google has been busy fixing a serious security flaw in its Chrome browser that hackers have been exploiting in the wild.
Google has released a security update for its Chrome browser to fix a critical vulnerability that attackers are actively exploiting. The flaw, identified as CVE-2023-2033 is a confusion vulnerability affecting the V8 JavaScript engine in Google Chrome. This type of problem happens when an application does not correctly validate the type of data it is working with. That confusion could compromise a user's device allowing an attacker to steal personal data or even take over their system.
The flaw was reported by Clément Lecigne of Google's Threat Analysis Group on April 14 and has been actively exploited in the wild.
