Another Phishing Scam Produces 700 Personal Info Breach

Another company falls victim to a phishing scam. Brightview, formerly called The Brickman Group, was the victim of a phishing scam when an employee opened an email and sent the personal info of 700 employees to an unkown hacker.

The phishing email asked for “specific personal information of our team members” to include first, middle and last name, job title and division, employee ID, status, hourly rate, last date paid, annual salary, home address, date of birth, and Social Security number."

No banking information or credit card data was included in the data dump.

The company admitted that it was not the victim of a hack job, but instead human error.
