AP Twitter hacked - Dow Jones drops

It seems today is a busy day for the Twitter security team, as the AP twitter feed shows a post stating that there has been 2 explosions at the White House, and that Obama has been injured.

Jay Carney, a White House spokesman addressed the media with "The president is fine, I was just with him." That apparently was not in enough time to stop the Dow Jones from plummeting 128 points right after the initial report, but it jumped right back up after the Tweet was confirmed false.

I don't know about you, but the fact that a mere unconfirmed Tweet could cause the Dow to nose dive concerns me more than the hack itself.

The Associated Press gave this brief statement: "The AP twitter account has been hacked. A tweet about an attack at the White House is false. We will advise on acct. status."

No one has claimed responsibility as of yet, but I am putting a penny on the Syrian Electronic Army, how about you?
