Apple brings back free iTunes

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 01/26/2015 04:15 PM [ comments Comments ]

The free ride for Apple iTunes has bit the dust. Apple pulled its long-running “Single of the Week” promotion earlier this month.

But don't despair. Apple on Monday launched a new “Free on iTunes” section chock full of songs and full-length TV episodes. Now instead of one free tune, you can get 16 songs and 24 TV episodes to choose from, including picks from new shows like Backstrom and 12 Monkeys. There are a slew of reality shows, like Rev Run’s Renovation and Ace of Cakes.

For now, “Free on iTunes” looks like it’s U.S.-only. The only question that remains is how/when will they swap out tunes.
