AskAdmin Allows Selective File, Program Blocking

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 07/02/2016 05:42 AM [ comments Comments ]

AskAdmin allows you to block access to programs and text files from other users that may be also utilizing your machine.

This portable tool can be useful if you have children or if multiple people are using the same computer. Simply drag and drop what you would like blocked into AskAdmin and by default the item is blocked. The blocking is provided by calculating the MD5 hash code of the given file and then it modifies the group policy in order to restrict access to that specific hash value.

Keep in mind that this is not a Department of Defense grade folder and file lock but it is an added layer of protection from a nosey user.

The basic block functions of AskAdmin are free however if you would like password protection of your blocked items then you need to purchase a copy.
