Drunken carpet wrapping incident at Ace Hardware leads to arrest (Mugshot)

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 11/16/2013 08:22 AM [ comments Comments ]

A man admitted to police that he was "messed up" after drinking at Don's Ice House in Crestview, FL., which lead him to wrap himself up in some indoor-outdoor carpeting at a local Ace Hardware store - which of course he had urinated on. The man claims that the arresting officer smirked at him....

According to NWF Daily News, employees say they found 32-year-old John Wesley Crews on the property rolled up in 15 feet of green, matted carpet and 7 feet of gray matted carpet. The carpet had to be removed because Crews apparently had urinated on it, the report indicated.

After he was taken to jail Crews said he “wanted to talk,” according to the report. He said he understood his rights and that the charges against him “weren't too bad.” He also made several references to another officer “smirking” at him.

Crews was charged with criminal mischief and burglary and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
