Epic Games Store Holiday Free Games 2025: Daily Giveaways Updated January 1 --2 Bonus Games!

Posted by: Corporal Punishment on 01/01/2026 06:07 AM [ comments Comments ]

Epic Games has kicked off the holiday season in a big way, and if you are a PC gamer, this is one of those rare times where it actually pays to stop scrolling, log in and get downloading.

First up, Epic recently announced that Hogwarts Legacy is available for free until 12/8/25. This was not some introductory version either. It's the whole game that I personally paid full price for on release. #Jealous.

On top of that, Epic is now running a Holiday Giveaway, where they give away one free, full-blown AAA game every single day from December 18th through December 31st. That means up to 14 free games if you remember to check in daily. No limitations, no paywall, nothing but the full title at zero charge, unless you want some of the optional add-on packs. Epic already gives away a free game every single week, so this holiday run is basically that program turned up to eleven. If you are even remotely interested in PC gaming, it is worth checking back daily.

As usual, a leaked list of potential giveaway titles has already surfaced because the Internet is good at those sorts of things. Take this with a grain of salt because Epic has not confirmed it, but this is the main list that is floating around right now. Should be fun to track.

December 18
– Rumored Jurassic World Evolution 2
- Released: Joutun Slayer: Hordes of Hel Originally released in 1/2025. Hordes of Hel is an indie rogue horde-survivor set in a brutal Norse mythology world, where you battle relentless waves of enemies, earn powerful blessings from the gods, explore dangerous realms, and face towering bosses as you grow stronger with every run. 'Til Valhalla!

December 19
– Rumored Desperados 3
- Released: Eternights A very unique 2023 action RPG set during an apocalypse, blending real-time hack-and-slash dungeon combat with dating sim mechanics, where players must survive monster-filled battles while forming relationships and searching for love. Known for its boss battles.

December 20
– Rumored Total War: WARHAMMER
- Released: Blood West: Originally released in 2023 by Hyperstrange, Blood West takes the Weird West, dunks it in eldritch horror, and hands you a revolver as an undead gunslinger stuck in a curse that is less redemption arc and more eternal punishment. You will roam open-ended areas like the Canyons, Swamps, and Mountains, all packed with monsters, secrets, and easily 20+ hours of gameplay (closer to 35 if you are the type who has to see everything).

December 21
– Rumored Tropico 5
- Released: Sorry We're Closed: A single-player survival horror game where the heroine needs to battle to remove a curse placed on her by a demon lord. Plentyof game play, battles and puzzles.

December 22
– Rumored Chicken Police: Paint it RED!
- Released: Paradise Killer: Paradise Island, a world outside reality, where a murder has occurred that only the self-proclaimed "investigation freak," Lady Love Dies, can unravel. The game encourages players to engage in exploration and interrogation within an open-world setting, allowing them to gather clues and interact with various characters.

December 23
– Rumored Loop Hero
- Released: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night: This is an older critically acclaimed release from Artplay Inc. that raised nearly 6 MILLION dollars on Kickstarter back in the day and still sells for over $39 on the daily. Designed by Koji Igarashi of Castlevania fame, this 18th-century, demon-fighting, Gothic horror action RPG is both single and multiplayer and 100% worth the add.

December 24
– Rumored LEGO Batman
- Released: The Callisto Protocol: In a future set 300 years from now, Jacob Lee finds himself trapped in Black Iron Prison, a maximum-security facility on Jupiter's moon, Callisto. As the situation rapidly deteriorates, inmates begin to undergo terrifying transformations into monstrous creatures, plunging the prison into chaos. Forced to fight for survival, Jacob must navigate this treacherous environment and uncover the dark secrets hidden beneath the surface of Callisto.

December 25
– Rumored Commander Keen
- Released: Disco Elysium - The Final Cut: As a detective with a unique set of skills at your disposal, you'll navigate the complexities of Hazekatar, a city plagued by corruption and decay. Your choices will shape not only the story but also who you become—a hero or an absolute disaster of a human being—making every decision count in this groundbreaking role-playing game.

December 26
– Rumored Farming Simulator 22
- Released: We Were Here Together: Embark on a puzzle-solving adventure in which you and a partner must prove you can communicate and work together to escape Castle Rock.

December 27
– Rumored Slime Rancher 2
- Released: Cassette Beasts: Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG, now with online multiplayer mode. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!

December 28
– Rumored Terraria
- Released: SKALD: Against the Black Priory: In SKALD, you'll find yourself immersed in a grim-dark fantasy world where heroism is often cut short by violent deaths and unspeakable terrors inspired by Lovecraftian horror. The game's retro-style party-based RPG gameplay lets you take risks and roll the dice as you navigate a gripping story filled with ferocious creatures and multiple branching paths.

December 29
– Rumored Detroit: Become Human
- Released: Viewfinder: Viewfinder is a mind-bending first-person adventure game that lets you bring images to life by placing them into its world. As you explore multiple interconnected hub worlds, each with their unique complexities, you'll uncover the secrets of this mysterious place and discover why it exists. With a player-driven narrative, Viewfinder offers an experience that's adaptable to your pace and interests, whether you want to solve puzzles or dive deeper into its richly detailed world.

December 30
– Rumored Mortal Kombat 11
- Released: Trine Classic Collection: The Trine Classic Collection brings together four standout titles: Trine Enchanted Edition, Trine 2: Complete Story, Trine 3: Artifacts of Power, and the latest release, Trine 4: Definitive Edition. Fans can relive the magic or experience it for the first time with this comprehensive collection. From puzzle-solving to exploration, the Trine series has something for everyone.

December 31
– Rumored Red Dead Redemption 2
- Released: Chivalry 2: A multiplayer first-person slasher inspired by epic medieval movie battles. Players are thrust into the action of every iconic moment of the era, from clashing swords to storms of flaming arrows to sprawling castle sieges and more.

January 1
- Released: Total War: THREE KINGDOMS: Recreates epic conflict across ancient China in an age of heroes and legends, combining gripping empire-building, statecraft and conquest with stunning real-time battles.
- Released: Wildgate: A PvPvE multiplayer shooter that blends tactical ship-to-ship combat with fast-paced first-person action. Evade deadly environmental hazards, search for powerful weapons and ship upgrades, and be the first crew to escape with the Artifact.

If that list turns out to be accurate, it is absolutely stacked. We are talking about legitimate games here, not filler titles.

Still, until December 18th hits, this remains unconfirmed. We will keep this page updated as each day’s free game is officially revealed with links to go get them. We will also keep the rumored releases up, just for courtesy's sake.

There is no downside to grabbing these, even if you are not sure when you will play them. Worst case, they sit in your library until a rainy day or a bout of boredom hits.

A few important notes before you dive in. These giveaways are mainly for Windows PCs, but some may be available for macOS. For our growing number of Linux Geeks, you will need to get a copy of Heroic Game Launcher and you should be good to go.

Also, you are going to need an Epic Games account to claim them. Creating an account is free, and once a game is added to your library, it is yours to keep forever. So if you don't have one, get a jump and do that now.

It looks like each new free title will be available for 24 hours, expiring at 11 AM EST the following day. Fair warning: Epic’s servers tend to get slammed during these drops, so you may need a little patience. It can remind you of queuing up for massive game patches back in the day if you are from the OG era of gaming.

Bonus: Epic is also giving away free in-game content during the holiday event, including skins and cosmetics for popular games like Fortnite and Rocket League. Even if you do not play them now, free is free.

You can find the official free games page here:
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/free-games

Bottom line: sign up, log in, and claim everything. Even if the leaked list turns out to be partially wrong, Epic has a solid track record of delivering big-name titles during the holidays. We will know for sure starting December 18th.
