Generate Secure Passwords With PWGen

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 05/19/2016 01:56 AM [ comments Comments ]

Coming up with secure passwords for all the different apps we use can be daunting for some and may lead to the re-using of the same password which is not advisable. So why not make the process easy and have them generated for you?

PWGen is an easy-to-use password generator that will assist in the creation of cryptographically-secure passwords. You will have at your disposal multiple types of creation options including “classical” passwords, pattern-based passwords, pronounceable passwords, and passphrases consisting of words from word lists.

PWGen utilizes a “random pool” technique based on strong cryptography in order to generate random data from user inputs (keystrokes, mouse handling) as well as volatile system parameters. You also have many other options for customizing your passwords depending on the specific need. Additionally, you receive extremely strong text encryption and the added security with the creation of random data files that can be used as key files for encryption utilities.
