@0x2Taylor, who breached Amazon's Kindle a few days back, has now taken responsibility for hacking the Baton Rouge police database.
He is calling himself a “Security Researcher” and has published the personal info of 50,000 police officers. It is still unclear as to whether or not someone gave him the data or if he hacked the database himself.
The hacker is claiming it is in response to the killing of Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old father, was shot to death on Tuesday during a scuffle with two police officers.
The leaked database records included police officers’ names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers.
@0x2Taylor said in a tweet: "The reason I did it is because of what that officer did to alton sterling. i’m sick of seeing police abuse their power and all the killings."
The publication of police names and addresses will not stop the senseless killing but will put them in jeopardy.
