In a case that may prove to set a precedent, Ardit Ferizi, aka Th3Dir3ctorY, 20, an ISIS hacker, has pleaded guilty to stealing the Personal Info of 1,000 service men and government workers and handing it over to ISIS.
The charge was providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. He will be sentenced in September and could face as much as 25 years. Part of the plea arrangement stipulates that he be returned to Kosovo at the end of his prison term.
The intention of the theft was to give ISIS a means to incite terrorist attacks against those individuals.
He faces 20 years for providing the material support to the terrorist group and an additional 5 years for the crime of accessing a protected computer without authorization and obtaining information.
Ferizi was arrested on Oct. 6, 2015 by Malaysian authorities and subsequently extradited to the U.S.
