When your child is the target of schoolyard bullying it is natural to be protective and even angry with the bullies - recommending that your child shoot up the school on your Facebook page; adding that he is "an excellent marksman," oddly does not come to mind.
According to KMA Land, Council Bluffs IA., Police say 39-year-old Teri Pallat was arrested on charges of terroristic threats and 1st degree harassment.
The charges are in connection with an investigation that began November 18th, when Meredith Pallat--Teri's wife--reported that her juvenile son was the victim of ongoing bullying at Lewis Central. Numerous acts reportedly occurred against her son from September until this month.
The post stated, "And they asked why do people shoot up schools, well this is exactly why and when our son does it cause I know he will have nobody to blame but the administration and I promise everyone he will only get the ones that caused this. He is an excellent marksman."
Opposing Views reports Pallat was released on a $10,000 bond and says that the reaction to her posting is completely irrational.
“I can't believe this. I am just an everyday person. Facebook is what this is all about,” said Pallat.
If Pallat is found guilty of the charges against her, she could face up to two years in prison for harassment and up to five years in prison for making a terroristic threat.
