Lance Reddick Passes at the Age of 60

Lance Reddick, the beloved actor known for his roles in The Wire and as Charon in the John Wick franchise, has passed away at the age of 60. His death was confirmed by his family on March 17th 2023.

Reddick's career spanned over three decades starring in several films and television shows, such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent, White House Down, John Wick (1-3), Lost, Fringe and more.

In 2002, he joined the cast of HBO’s groundbreaking series The Wire playing Major Cedric Daniels—a role that earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2008. Reddick also had recurring roles in the critically acclaimed HBO series Oz and NBC's drame, Third Watch.

Perhaps Reddick's most iconic role - at least for us gamers - was that of Commander Zavala, the Vanguard Leader in the Destiny video game franchise. Reddick brought a cheerful yet authoritative presence to the game. His voice and character will be remembered by Destiny fans around the world.

Lance Reddick will be dearly missed by and his legions of fans. He leaves behind an amazing legacy of work that will live on long after his death.
