A Northbrook, IL., man was arrested after his vehicle became stuck while he was attempting to park in a parking area that was nearby the police station. He most certainly missed the spot!
Eyal Alima, 47, drove onto the lawn of the Northbrook Police Department after missing the public parking entrance and wound up on the soggy front lawn. According to the statement given to The Chicago Tribune by police spokesman Daniel Petka, Alima then proceeded to circle the building and instead of exiting onto Landwehr Road turned and drove over the grass in front of the building. The car likely got stuck because the lawn was saturated with melted snow, he said.
"The building is pretty well-lit outside," Petka said. "I think it'd be hard to get confused."
Alima, who was released on $1,000 bail the same night, said the incident was a misunderstanding.
"If I really was drunk, why would I go to the police?" said Alima, adding that he believes the breath analysis machine used on him might have been broken.
