This makes perfect sense... If 911 will not help you with one issue - give them an issue in which they must. Surprisingly this is not Florida!
A man in Massachusetts became upset after he locked himself out of his car in the town of Leominster, he went to a nearby store to call emergency services for help in getting the car unlocked, but was turned down due to a policy which doesn't allow them to help unless it is an emergency situation.
Joel Valerio, 24, in his infinite wisdom translated this to mean; he should immediately build an emergency situation, then they will surely come. Valerio was captured on CCTV setting fire to a bakery and was ultimately successful in getting the police response he desired. They just didn't unlock the car....
According to CBSBoston, after being turned down for his initial request for help, Valerio is then captured by surveillance cameras walking around for a couple of hours.
He is seen fishing in a dumpster or two — before strolling over to the rear of the bakery. Roughly 40 minutes later the place erupts in flames.
“Our detective believes he was angry that police and fire wouldn’t help him unlock his car,” says Leominster Police Lt. Michael Goldman. “And so he set a fire because of that.”
