You may not have heard of No More Ransomware, but it is a collective of industry and law enforcement that has cleared more than 2500 machines of ransomware. This has been done by providing keys and other tools to eradicate infections.

The collective consists of cops and anti-malware experts including McAfee and soon-to-be-former parent company Intel, Kaspersky Labs, Europol's EC3 cybercrime division, and Dutch police.

The alliance has so far been able to provide keys for all but the stubbornness ransomware; Cryptxxx and Cryptowall.

Jornt v.d. Wiel, a researcher with Kaspersky's elite GReAT threat team recently announced that so far 822 Coinvault and 941 Shade ransomware victims have been liberated.

The announcement also includes a further 700, bringing the total to 2463.

The wildfire ransomware was recently scalped bringing a total of more than 1600 decryption keys to the initiative.

Trend Micro is having success with decrypting the Ceber ransomware and advises victims to check their updated decryption tool.
