The promotional stunt staged by the ad agency, Relevant and has the MTA in a tizzy over what they say was an unauthorized stunt; not unlike the recent 'Devil's Due' prank which was also unleashed on unsuspecting New Yorkers last month.
Police said they hadn’t received a formal complaint from the MTA as of Sunday, a police source told the Post. But accessing subway grates and filming on city property without permits could result in charges of trespassing, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, the source said.
The city has turned into a playground recently for professional video pranksters. As noted above, the ad agency that produced the devil baby attack didn't access any areas deemed 'off limits' like Relevant did with the grating.
The Post attempted to pin down an answer of whether or not Relevant actually had permission or not, but calls to officials have not returned as of yet.
