Pentagon Breached Again

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 09/12/2015 06:16 AM [ comments Comments ]

It appears that the Pentagons food court has been breached and credit card data stolen.

The problem came to light when a few personnel reported fraudulent charges on their credit cards.

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency said: β€œthese individuals had fraudulent charges to their account soon after they had legitimate transactions at the Pentagon.”

A statement released by the Defense Department reads: β€œOn Friday, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency [PFPA] notified the Pentagon workforce that their office received numerous reports of fraudulent use of credit cards belonging to Pentagon personnel. According to PFPA, these individuals had fraudulent charges to their account soon after they had legitimate transactions at the Pentagon.”

Although the statement noted that it is unclear how the credit cards were compromised and where the compromise occurred, the Washington Examiner reported that attackers infiltrated the Pentagon food court's computer system and stole information from people who paid for concessions.
