Police in Germany, the Netherlands, France and Canada conducted raids against 170 suspected cyber-criminals and have announced the arrest of a 22-year old suspect.
Approximately 700 police took part in the raid and targeted "globally active hackers and a variety of Internet criminals."
The police released a statement that included the news that 175 day light raids also resulted in a second suspect that was found to be in possession of several kilograms of illegal drugs and weapons.
The hackers had offered illicit services such as camouflaging malware from anti-virus programs in order to steal online passwords and banking data and commit crimes ranging from fraud to extortion.
In addition to the suspects that were arrested, police also confiscated 300 computers and discs.
