The legendary and stunningly beautiful actress Maureen O'Hara died peacefully in her sleep at home in Boise, ID, she was 95.
O'Hara best known for her roles in 'The Quiet Man' opposite John Wayne, 'Miracle on 34th Street,' among many others, died of natural causes. Her family put out the following statement: "Maureen was our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family as they celebrated her life listening to music from her favorite movie, 'The Quiet Man.' Her characters were feisty and fearless, just as she was in real life. She was also proudly Irish and spent her entire lifetime sharing her heritage and the wonderful culture of the Emerald Isle with the world."
'Quiet Man' is one of my all time favorite classic movies. Ireland, John Wayne, and Maureen O'Hara all-in-one - love her sassy line "Could you use a little water in your whiskey?"
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again....
