Russians Hack DNC for Dirt on Trump

The Presidential race is heating up with the latest announcement that Russian hackers have breached the Democratic National Committees servers to try to dig up dirt on Donald Trump.
CrowdStrike was called in when IT personnel discovered unusual activity on their servers. CrowdStrike found that two separate hacking groups were working for the Russian government. The first group, called "Cozy Bear" had set up last summer. But when the second group, called "Fancy Bear", blundered in in April, it set off alarms.
Cozy Bear was monitoring emails and instant messages while Fancy Bear was targeting research files. The files are reportedly full of dirt on Trump.
The DNC is not the only organization targeted by Russian spies. It is believed that networks of the political organizations of candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were also targeted.
If it was in fact the Russians, digging up dirt on the candidates would be one of their functions.
